Welcome to Bill Ladouceur's Page
February 15th, 2012, I sat in my Urologist office in the Windsor Regional Hospital and he informed me that the results of my 14 biopsies all came back positive. I had Stage IV prostate cancer. Now what?
My journey began. It consisted of endless appointments with my oncologist, CT scans, bone scans, blood work, x-rays, consults, numerous radiation treatment and, in addition, a quarterly injection into my abdomen, which I still receive today.
8 years have passed since my initial diagnosis and I feel generally very well. I lead a very active lifestyle. I can look back on my journey and what I can say is THANK YOU to everyone involved in my cancer treatment at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre (WRCC). Their compassion, patience and understanding showed they really did care!
For 7 years I have been volunteering at the WRCC. My reward is giving back to the Centre and the amazing staff that took care of me during my journey and to help the patients who were just like me.
We have a saying a the WRCC, “We will never surrender”! Be strong!
